Known dishwashers are too large for the small household. If not used daily, mould forms in the interior of the appliance and leads to malodorous fermentation. The new appliance is to be adapted in its dimensions to the small household. The body of the new dishwasher consists of semi-foamed synthetic resin, in particular polypropylene. The loading door is shaped such that its rim produces a leaktight structure with the rest of the housing. The new dishwasher takes up little space, uses little electric current in operation, and dispenses with a seal between the loading door and the rest of the housing. <IMAGE>
