PURPOSE:To prevent fire hazards and burn injuries so as to improve the safety by interrupting the power supply to the heater when a sensor disposed in the upper and lower areas of a heat reflecting surface detects an object. CONSTITUTION:Sensors 13, 15 are respectively disposed in the front of the body 3 to be situated at the upper and lower areas of a heat reflecting surface 12. When either one or both of them detect an object, the resistance level of either one or both of resistors 14, 15 is caused to be changed. As the resultant resistance level R changes, a sensor circuit 23 detects the change of current in a bridge circuit 22 to activate a relay 24 by a relay operating circuit 25 so as to interrupt the power supply to heaters 1, 2. This way, a fire is prevented from occurring, and if a person contacts the guard etc., burn injuries can be prevented or lessened. The enlarged area of sensing contributes to improve the safety.
