PURPOSE:To easily test the continuity of a body to be tested which has end surfaces arrayed at fine pitch by taking up a wire while bringing the side part of the wire into contact with the end surfaces of the body to be tested and detecting the continuity of the body to be tested through the wire. CONSTITUTION:A pin electrode 1 is set at a prescribed position of a fitting table 34 on a substrate 21 and a handle 32 is rotated while a plotter 33 is put in operation, so that a take-up means 7 moves to the left. At the same time, a pinion 24 which engages a rack 23 rotates and the rotation of a gear 19 is transmitted to a worm wheel 17 through a worm 18 to rotate a take-up reel 12, thereby taking up the wire 6 from a supply reel 13. The wire 6 is extended between pulleys 15 with prescribed tension and contacts the end surface 1a of an electrode 1 with prescribed pressure. Then the plotter 33 performs recording operation every time the wire 6 conducts to the end surface 1a and records which are regular in a saw-tooth shape are obtained. If continuity is not obtained, a record is absent there, so a defective electrode is detected clearly at a glance.
