PURPOSE:To handle transactions regardless of a line channel dedicated to a center device without keeping a customer waiting by transmitting a card certifi cation request telegram to the center device in a card company through a public telephone line from each transaction processing terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:A credit authorization terminal CAT1 is a card certification terminal equipment with a card certification function, while a CAT-ECR2 is a card certification terminal equipment with an electronic cash register ECR function. According to the card certification request telegram transmitted from the CAT1 or the CAT-ECR2, the center device 5 in the card company discriminates whether transactions are feasible or not by the card, and transmits a card certification OK or not telegram to the CAT1 or the CAT-ECR2. A CPU edits the card certification request telegram 50, consecutively dials the telephone number of the center device 5 in the card company, and transmits the card certification request telegram 50 when the line is connected.
