PURPOSE:To prevent a play between character wheels by giving a pinion receiving plate between the character wheels and completely incorporating a clutch wheel between adjacent character wheels. CONSTITUTION:The character wheels 3 are movably fitted in parallel with a shaft 2 which turns by pressing a zero return level 1, and the pinion receiving plate 5 maintaining a pinion gear in its home position is rockingly provided between the character wheels 3. The clutch wheels having a projection part engaged with the pinion receiving plate 5 attachably and detachably is provided slidably in a baffled state. A clutch surface a' is provided on a surface facing the character wheels 3 and on the low order side of the clutch wheel 7. A clutch surface b' that the clutch surface a' in brought into contact with is provided on the side of the character wheel 3. Both sides are tapered in a reverse V shape with the diameters of the clutch surfaces a' and b' as a boundary. Out of the two diameters becoming the boundary, the one is tilted greater than the other, and a drive mechanism 9 rotating the shaft 2 is provided.
