PURPOSE:To improve heat resistance of the titled waveguide, and to reduce transmission loss thereof in a lapse of time, especially, after thermally aging by crosslinking the optical waveguide part with an organosiloxane polymer and an organohydrodiene siloxane polymer in the presence of a very small amount of Pt catalyst. CONSTITUTION:The optical waveguide part 12 of the titled waveguide is covered with a clad layer 11 which has less refractive index than that of said part 12. The organosiloxane polymer constituting the optical waveguide part is produced by effecting hydrosilyl reaction of the organosiloxane polymer (A) having at least two nonconjugated type unsatd. bonds in a molecule, and the organohydrodiene siloxane polymer (B) having at least two of identicalSi-H bonds in the molecule in the presence of Pt or a Pt compd. in the amount of <=0.5ppm weight ratio based on the components (A) and (B), expressed in terms of Pt, thereby crosslinking said components (A) and (B). Thus, the optical waveguide having excellent heat resistance and less transmission loss due to heat history is obtd. |
