PURPOSE:To securely detect the loading condition of sheets of paper by detecting the pressing condition of a pressing means and the defined position of a supporting means to obtain a condition signal for indicating the piling condition of sheets of paper on said supporting means. CONSTITUTION:Sheets of paper 111 which are continuously sent in are temporarily held by a holding means 113 and loaded onto a supporting means 115 by the pressing force of a pressing means 117. Since the supporting means 115 is made swingable by a swinging means 119, its position is changed in accordance with the quantity of sheets of paper 111 loaded on the supporting means 115. When the supporting means 115 is placed at a defined position, a position detecting signal 125 is outputted. Also, at the time of pressing by a pressing means 117, a pressing detecting means 121 is outputted when the pressing means 117 is placed at a define position. And, in accordance with the pressing detecting signal 121 and the position detecting signal 125, a notifying means 131 outputs a condition signal 129 for indicating the piling condition of the sheets of paper 111 onto the supporting means 115. As a result, the piling condition of the sheets of paper 111 can be securely informed.
