PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a flaw such as pinhole and the discharge of the gas in a deposited film and to achieve cost reduction and miniaturization, by providing a polyimide resin layer, which is formed by the coating and baking of cyclized polyimide type varnish, on a support and forming a heat generating resistor thereon. CONSTITUTION:In constituting a thermal head, cyclized polyimide type varnish prepared, for example, by dissolving a ring closed polyimide resin represented by formula (II) is applied to a metal substrate 1 composed of an Fe-alloy at first and baked to form a cyclized polyimide resin layer 2. A heat generating resistor 3 is formed on said resin layer 2, and an individual electrode 5 and a common electrode 6 are further formed on the heat generating resistor 3 so as to form an opening becoming a heat generating part 4. Further, an oxidation preventing abrasion resistant film 7 is formed so as to cover the heat generating part 4. |
