PURPOSE:To reduce the destruction of microcapsules to improve the picture quality by dispersing microcapsules in a liquid and attracting them to a dielectric and transferring them to a carrier sheet. CONSTITUTION:Color development precursors a1-a3 developing colors of cyan, magenta, and yellow and sensing compositions b1-b3 which sense electromagnetic wave beams having wavelengths lambda1-lambda3 different among said precursors to make said precursors immobile by changing the viscosity or the like are enclosed with thin films C consisting of gelatin or the like to obtain microcapsules, and these microcapsules are dispersed in a liquid and are packed in a capsule supply device 3. A dielectric 1 is turned in the direction of an arrow and passes an electrifier, and microcapsules sensing respective wavelengths are stuck to the surface of a roll 3b and are uniformly stuck to the surface of the dielectric 1, and light beams having wavelengths lambda1-lambda3 are projected to these microcapsules by an optical modulator 4 in accordance with a picture signal to harden these microcapsules, thus forming a latent image. The picture signal is written on the dielectric 1 in this manner, and hardened microcapsules are attracted and stuck to the surface of a carrier sheet 5 by the electrostatic field of the second electrifier provided in the position of the carrier sheet 5. Thus, the three-primary color latent image is transferred and is developed on a developing sheet H by a developing device 9.
