PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for new provision of a announciator such as a display device by recognizing it to an operator in voice whether or not a telephone number inputted to a sub-set is received properly in a main set. CONSTITUTION:The main set is provided with a signal returning means A19 returning a dial data signal from the received sub-set to the sub-set, a sound signal generating means A34 converting a telephone number represented by a dial data signal into the sound signal and sending it to the sub-set and a dialing control means A1 controlling the operation/stop of the dialing means A32 based on the dialing control signal sent from the sub-set and a control signal generating means 81 sending the dialing control signal in response to the result of discrimination as to whether or not the returned dial data and the sent dial data are coincident in the sub-set. Thus, whether or not the signal is received properly is recognized in voice and the connection with a wrong telephone set is prevented automatically.
