摘要 PURPOSE:To raise resolution and to execute YC separation in which a cross color does not occur by adaptively switching the filter of horizontal, vertical and time directions in accordance with a local change in a picture. CONSTITUTION:The horizontal, vertical and time directions selecting type filter 42 filters a signal sequence S 102 from an A/D converter. With the use of a sampled value in the phase inverted sample position of near a C signal which is in the horizontal, vertical and time directions against the signal sequence S, respective differential absolute values in the horizontal, vertical and time directions of a video signal are found. With the use of two sampled values of small horizontal and vertical directions differential absolute value if the time direction differential absolute value is bigger than a time direction corelation threshold constant, and with the use of two sampled values in the direction if the time direction differential absolute value is smaller than the time direction corelation threshold constant, prescribed filter operation is executed and the low frequency components of the video signal are adaptively controlled to be removed. An Y signal 106 is found as a difference between an output signal 105 from a delay element 43 and a signal 104.
