The casing encloses a gas burner (14) fitted along the base with combustion air inlet through the bottom plate (5). The casing has two side vents (T) formed by inclined baffles (9A,9B) and an internal baffle (11) forming a chicane gas passage to the flue outlet (12). - Under normal operation hot gases flow to the outlet around the two syphens (5). Under reverse draught conditions the gases flow downward through the vents along with the reverse draught. When the flue is blocked the products of combustion alone can exhaust through the vents.
