PURPOSE:To enable the supply-stoppage of instrumentation air and the stoppage of a hydraulic pump to be automatically done by actuating controllers by means of stop signals from an expander. CONSTITUTION:At the stopping time of an expander 1, a stop signal 31 from the expander 1 is transmitted. Steam valves 3, 13 are closed by means of output signals 32, 33 from the 1st controller 29 which has received this stop signal. These valves having been completely closed is confirmed a few seconds later, and then a remnant pressure release valve 21 is released. When steam valves 3, 13 thus fall into a closed condition and the remnant pressure release valve 21 thus becomes in a released condition, the steam remnant pressure within the expander 1 becomes okg/cm<2>. Right after it, an instrumentation air valve 25 is closed by means of the 2nd controller 35 which has received the stop signal 31 from the expander 1 and pressure signals 36, 38 for air supply and exhaust from pressure oscillators 5, 12, and a hydraulic pump 26 is stopped. By this, the expander 1 is made to be automatically stopped without steam or steam drain invading a M-ring portion and the inside of an oil tank 28.
