PURPOSE:To increase track number by providing 1st and 2nd magnetic heads to a slider at a prescribed interval and forming a track corresponding to each head alternately so as to move the slider at a specific pitch. CONSTITUTION:Plural magnetic disks 3 are fixed in parallel with a spindle 2 of a magnetic disk device 1. A head actuator 4 is provided to one side of a disk 3 along the radial direction of the disk 3. An arm 6 is provided to the actuator 4 corresponding to each face of the disk 3 and a slider 7 is fitted to the tip of the arm 6. Magnetic heads alpha, beta are provided to a face of the slider 7 corresponding to the disk 3 at a prescribed interval lambda in a direction coincident with the moving direction of the slider 7 and tracks 10a, 10b are formed alternately. Then the slider 7 is positioned at a prescribed pitch P(lambdanot equal to n.p, where n is a natural number) to increase the track number in one and the same cylinder. |
