PURPOSE:To prevent the missing of substantial functions such as loss of recording of content of conversation of telephone call onto a music tape in error and automatic answering telephone set by detecting the recording or reproducing mode of a tape recorder in common use for the recording and reproduction, inhibiting the recording of the content of telephone conversation based on the result of detection and sending a message for callback at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 7 reads a state detection signal from a detection circuit 5 independently of the presence of a lug of a tape cassette loaded to a magnetic recording and reproducing device 4 while a channel is established among a telephone circuit, the magnetic recording and reproducing device 4 and a voice transmission device 3. Then a command signal is sent to the voice transmission device 3 and a command signal is sent to the magnetic recording and reproducing device 4. Thus, the magnetic recording and reproducing device 4 is controlled so as not to input a voice signal from a telephone line and the voice transmission device 3 is controlled to send a message such as desire of callback. Thus, accidental erasure of the tape is not cared for and the function of the magnetic recording and reproducing device in common use for the recording and reproduction is increased for reproducing the music signal.
