PURPOSE:To enable absorption of excessive impact force, by splitting the shaft between the steering wheel side and the steering gear side, then coupling them through a bellows tube. CONSTITUTION:A steering shaft 1 is splitted into a shaft 3 at a steering wheel 2 side and a shaft 5 at a steering gear 4 side where said shafts 3, 5 are arranged on same axis X. A bellows tube 6 is coupled between the facing sections 3A, 5A at the ends of the shafts 3, 5 and the axis Y of said bellows tube 6 is shifted by an amount (e) with respect to the axis X of the shafts 3, 5.
