The present invention concerns a method for manufacturing a cold-storage mass of carbon dioxide, and a cold accumulator produced by this method. Its application is in the technical field of conservation of products by refrigeration, e.g. in isothermal containers. The cold accumulator manufactured according to the invention consists of a sheathing (1, 21) made of a material that has a suitable porosity at least in certain places, and a mass of carbon dioxide snow (dry ice) that is trapped in this sheathing. <IMAGE>
