PURPOSE:To prevent the titled bar-code reader from being restricted by a command set which is defined in advance, by constituting and controlling a device by operating a memory location of a processor hardware in accordance with scanning of a bar-code tag which is selected from a prescribed bar-code menu. CONSTITUTION:A command for setting a constitution or controlling an operation of a bar-code reader can be inputted by a keyboard 12, or by using a scanner 13 for reading one of bar-code tags 17 which are encoded especially, of a menu 15. The bar-code tag 17 contains an encoded character-string for calling directly an instruction in a memory operation instruction set. These instructions consist of an operational code for operating directly a memory location of an operating system software of the bar-code reader, and an argument. |
