PURPOSE:To stabilize an access and to attain high accuracy by detecting the error of a speed detector at every access action and correcting speed in the middle of accessing. CONSTITUTION:While a head is decelerated in a speed error detection section 18, the timing of a track passing pulse is detected in a position comparatively close to a target track, and the difference between a speed signal 17 and an actual speed is detected. In a speed compensation section 19, a speed compensating device 13 corrects an output from a target speed generator 12 based on a track passing signal 16. The target speed signal subjected to speed correction is amplified and it drives an actuator 6.
