A bar part for powered support assemblies which serves as both a sliding and a setting bar has a swivel cylinder and a feed cylinder lying horizontally next to one another inside the setting-bar housing. In this arrangement, the swivel cylinder is connected to the main bar via a likewise horizontally lying link, the link being pivotable via a perpendicular pivot axis and having a spherical bearing at least in the area of articulation at the main bar. The bar joint and the spherically arranged and designed bearing are staggered horizontally so that the setting bar is either lifted or lowered when the swivel cylinder and thus the link are actuated. <IMAGE>
