PURPOSE:To enable a document to be conveyed acculately by causing a document conveying means to be comprised of the No.1 carrier roll pair, which are driven at the first speed, and the No.2 carrier roll pair, which are driven at the second speed for conveyance, and then controlling the operation of both the No.1 and No.2 carrier roll pairs. CONSTITUTION:When a document 12 is placed on a document placing board 10 and a motor is driven, a paddle 18 starts to rotate. Then, a solenoid 16 is excited to cause a gate to be opened, and the document 12 is carried forward. When a sensor 12 detects passing of the original 12, a rubber covered roll 60 starts to rotate, and the original 12 is conveyed at a low speed by virtue of a paddle wheel 52 and a pinch roller 57. When a sensor 64 detects the tip of the original 12, the rubber covered roll 60 separates from a pinch roll 63 and races, and at the same time, the document 12 is conveyed by virtue of a paddle wheel 54 rotating at a high speed, and collides against an ingate 56 so that it is located before the rubber covered roll 60 starts to rotate again, and then, the document 12 is conveyed onto a platen glass 24. |
