Circuit arrangement for the rapid determination of a digital value proportional to frequency or speed for further processing in controllers or evaluation units, such as for example skid protection controllers, over a large range of frequencies or speeds, by means of periodic duration measurement with automatic setting of the optimum measuring range, sufficiently exact values being also available outside the set range after each period, with inversion of the periodic duration in a digital frequency transmitter and subsequent correction of the frequency or speed value according to the measuring range set at the time.
