The invention relates to a pressing method for sintered anodes which have an elongate prismatic shape and the porosity of which is, in line with the object of the invention, to be distributed uniformly. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the fact that the pressing mould is filled in the vertical longitudinal direction of the prismatic body with a valve-metal powder with lamellar grains. After the closure of the filling opening and the introduction of a connection wire along the axis of longitudinal symmetry, pressing is carried out by two punches moved horizontally and symmetrically towards one another in a transverse direction of the prismatic body. After sintering in a known manner, the body obtained has uniformly distributed round voids and, consequently, also a uniformly distributed volume capacity.
