In order to clean objects, in particular paint spray guns, with a liquid cleansing agent, the parts are introduced into a basket (44) rotatively mounted around a vertical axis within an airtight cleaning chamber (44). A pump (84) driven by a compressed-air motor (86) sprays the cleansing agent through spraying nozzles (67, 69) on the parts to be cleaned, thus rotating the basket. The spray gun bodies held in supports in the basket (56) are rinsed with cleansing agent sprayed through their paint inlets and supplied by a branch pipe (58) and adapter (72a, 72b) arranged across the axis of the basket. The used cleansing agent is returned through a filter (42) to a container (36). Another container (34) contains unused cleansing agent. For a first, rough cleaning, the pump (84) supplies used, filtered cleansing agent. For the final cleansing the unused cleansing agent is supplied. After the final cleaning, compressed air is blown into the cleaning chamber (44) and at the same time the air containing cleaning agent vapours is extracted from the cleaning chamber (44) through a venting nozzle (46) by a compressed-air injector (112). The process is automatically controlled, if necessary with a full cleaning option and a rough cleaning option followed by drying.
|
