<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a ripening-control agent, consisting of a carrier, ethylene producing agent and ethylene production adjustor, capable of rapidly and constantly producing ethylene gas at a low temperature (3-10 deg.C) and optimally ripening vegetables and fruits in storing at low temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A ripening-control agent consisting of (A) a carrier, e.g. active carbon, zeolite, silicic acid, etc., (B) an ethylene producing agent, preferably ethephon (2-chloroethanephosphonic acid) or methionine derivative, e.g. 1-amino- cyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid, etc., and (C) an ethylene production adjustor, preferably hydroxide, e.g. sodium hydroxide, etc., peroxide, e.g. hydrogen peroxide, etc.</p> |
