PURPOSE:To enable to enhance typing efficiency, by a method wherein a character is erased by lifting up a correction ribbon by operating an operating rod, then a platen mechanism is fed back to a printing conforming position by operating a handle, and the correction ribbon is returned. CONSTITUTION:When a character is mistyped, the handle 68 is oscillated rightwards, whereby the platen 77 is fed reversely through a starting shaft 67, a crankshaft 70 and wire rods 74, 75. Then, the operating rod 58 is oscillated, whereby a ribbon holder 31 is lifted up together with the correction ribbon through a connecting rod 66, an oscillatable body 42, a metallic fitting 27 and the like, and a type for the mistyped character is impacted, whereby the mistyped character is erased by the ribbon 15. Simultaneously, the platen 77 is fed in a normal feeding direction by a predetermined amount. Then, the handle 68 is oscillated rightward, whereby the platen 77 is fed reversely, the ribbon holder 31 is returned together with the ribbon 15, and the ribbon 15 is taken up by a ribbon spool 26. Accordingly, typing efficiency can be enhanced. |
