The machine in knitting a sock or tubular fabric with two yarns can, if required, raise only the yarn for piles to form over the fabric in a pattern. The machine includes a jack (6) having common butts (6a) and (6b) for up-and-down movement and a butt (6c) for knitting pile patterns and being arranged to move up and down in a jack cylinder (5) provided on the outer side of the needle cylinder (1), and an auxiliary jack (8) which has a projection (8a), a butt (8b) and a push bar (8c) is placed on the back of th sinker (4) to move back and forth within the auxiliary jack cylinder (7).
