<p>PURPOSE:To recover rare metal in high purity without generating noxious gas by utilizing Sn, by which a rare metal-containing ore and raw metal of the rare metal are transformed at low temp. CONSTITUTION:Mixed material 28 of pyrite containing the rare metal of Pt, etc., and beta-Sn powder is charged into the upper step part 12 of a crucible 10 and heated at 700-1100 deg.C in a heating furnace, and Pt in the ore is scattered with magnetism of magnetic metal such as Fe in the pyrite and red light, white light, etc., of exothermic body in the furnace, and also the beta-Sn is melted to absorb Pt. The molten state beta-Sn flows down to the lower step part 14 of the crucible 10 through multiple small holes 18 at bottom part of the upper step part 12 in the crucible and deposits 30, and also the solid state ore residue containing no Pt remains in the upper step part 12. The Pt-containing beta-Sn 30 is cooled at <=18 deg.C transition temp. to alpha-Sn and transformed to alpha-Sn. As alpha-Sn is expanded and disintegrated at low temp. and the contained Pt is separated from alpha-Sn, Pt is recovered in high purity by gravity concn. method utilizing blasting concn., etc.</p> |
