A repellent, breathable, non-woven fabric having improved repellent properties, one surface of said fabric being corrugated in the machine direction and comprising entangled cellulosic fibres and loosely entangled polymeric fibres, said corrugated surface comprising predominantly entangled cellulosic fibres, said fabric having been additionally coated with fine fibres on the corrugated surface. The resultant product is prepared by depositing fine fibres from an aqueous slurry on and in a particular fabric while the latter is being cross-stretched.
