摘要

This carboxylic derivative of pyrol is used as an intermediate in obtaining β-lactam antibiotics by means of N-acylation. It helps diversify the nature of antibacterial agents countering the increasing resistance to their effect. The product has the following formula:<IMAGE>It is obtained by condensing ethyl-/Z/-2/methyloximino/-3-oxobutyrate with ω-aminoacetophenon and a subsequent saponification of the carbetoxy group into a carboxylic one.
