PURPOSE:To exactly and quickly measure a dimension of every article containing a soft article by inputting an image of an object to be measured, and calculating the dimension by processing its image. CONSTITUTION:With regard to standard parts 22, its image is inputted to a dimension measuring instrument through an ITV camera 6, a pre-processing is executed, and thereafter, a binarization image is generated. Subsequently, by using an obtained binarization image 23, an inclination angle theta0 of a main spindle at the time when an object has been replaced with an ellipse is measured, and its result (main spindle inclination angle theta0 27) is saved. Next, two pieces of feature points A, B are determined, and from the periphery of the points A, B, templates for pattern matching are generated 28, 29 and saved. Next, a measuring position is determined, a measuring point is defined by segments P1-P1, P2-P2, etc., and these information is stored onto a variable density image 26. In this case, for instance, the segment P1-P1 and the segment P2-P2 are written onto the image 26 by a density value 1 and a density value 2, etc., respectively, so that each segment can be separated. In this way, an arbitrary segment can be extracted easily. |
