PURPOSE:To manufacture an elastic self-shrinkable tube, which can be easily and radially expandable and supportable, by a method wherein a tube is radially expanded by using an inflatable hollow body and said inflatable hollow body is interposed between the elastic self-shrinkable tube and a hollow support. CONSTITUTION:A rubber-like elastic tube 1 is radially expanded by the expansion pressure of a hollow inflatable body 2 developed by charging pressure gas 5 in the hollow inflatable body in order to obtain a radially expanded tube 4. Next, a rigid hollow support 3, the outer diameter of which is set smaller than the inner diameter of the expanded hollow inflatable body 2 and which is placed in the interior of the hollow inflatable body 2, is transferred to the predetermined position on the inner face part of the radially expanded tube 4. By releasing the pressure gas 5, the radially expanded tube 4 is supported through the hollow inflatable body 2 by the rigid hollow support 3. The interposed hollow inflatable body 2 is cut off at a position corresponding above the one end part of the hollow support 3. A remnant length after cut which extends at the other end part is turned up at the other end face of the hollow support 3. An elastic self-shrinkable tube 6 is obtained under the state that the hollow inflatable body is insertedly mounted onto the interior of the radially expanded tube. |
