PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the contrast of a display video on a screen without producing a Keystone distortion by making a light diagonally incident on a liquid crystal panel and projecting the video light obtained through the liquid crystal panel on the screen disposed in parallel to the liquid crystal panel. CONSTITUTION:The light L0 obtained from a light source 5 is inclined by an angle equal to a maximum contrast visual angle alpha through a prism 21. The liquid crystal panel 4, a projection lens 22 and the screen 9 are shifted, the main beams of the bent light respectively pass the center of the liquid crystal panel 4, the projection lens 22 and the screen 9. Accordingly, the light L0 is made diagonally incident from the direction of the maximum contrast visual angle alpha to the liquid crystal panel 4 to obtain the video light LB good in the contrast. Since the liquid crystal panel 4 and the screen 9 are disposed in parallel in a gate constitution, what is called, the respective picture elements of the liquid crystal 4 are enlarged and projected on the screen with a mutually equal enlargement magnification and the generation of the Keystone distortion can be effectively avoided. |
