PURPOSE:To increase pulse discharge performance in light and middle loads without the sacrifice of heavy load discharge performance by using activated chemical manganese dioxide, mainly comprising gamma-type structure and on which aluminium is adsorbed, as a positive active material. CONSTITUTION:Manganese oxide ore such as pyrolusite is crushed and calcinated in a roasting furnace, then treated with sulfuric acid to produce activated chemical manganese dioxide. The activated chemical manganese dioxide is washed or neutralized with alkaline aqueous solution, then treated with aluminium salt aqueous solution. By this treatment, protons, sodium ions, or ammonium ions on the surface of the manganese dioxide are exchanged with trivalent aluminium ions and aluminium is adsorbed on the manganese dioxide. By using the activated chemical manganese dioxide on which aluminium is adsorbed as a positive active material, pulse discharge performance in light and middle loads is increased. |
