PURPOSE:To efficiently attain optical disk processing even when a different medium is used by reproducing a disk, reading identification information of a medium, commanding a control mode of an optical disk processing device and at the same time, sending the identification information to a higher rank device. CONSTITUTION:Information ID in the sector of a medium 5 is read out when the optical disk medium 5 in which ID information including track number, sector number and identification codes corresponding to the kind of medium of the optical disk is loaded in an optical disk processing device. The kind of medium is discriminated from an identification code by a medium identification circuit 7 and identification information of the medium is sent to a main controlling section 8. Then, the controlling section 8 sends identification information of the medium to a high-order device 1 through a selector circuit 11. The device 1 can determine a processing mode for an optical disk 7 device according to identification information of the medium. On the other hand, the controlling section 8 gives command of control mode suitable for the kind of medium to a servo control system 9, a data writing system 4 and a data reading system 6. |
