PURPOSE:To surely remove a toner remaining on a part of a photosensitive body with which a cleaning blade is brought into contact, by arranging the cleaning blade so that the blade and the tangent at the contact point, where its end is brought into contact with the photosensitive body, form an acute angle. CONSTITUTION:A cleaning blade 2 brought into contact with a photosensitive body 1 as the image carrier consists of an elastic body and scrapes off the toner remaining on the photosensitive body 1. The blade 2 is so arranged that the blade 2 and a tangent 1 at the contact point, where its front end is brought into contact with the photosensitive body 1, form an angle, and the blade 2 is freely shaked around a fulcrum shaft 5. The fulcrum shaft 5 is arranged in the range of 90-180 deg. or 270-360 deg. with the contact point as the center in the peripheral direction from the tangent 1 to the blade 2. The blade 2 is so set that the contact is above the front end position of the blade 2 in the moving direction of the photosensitive body 1 when the blade 2 is turned around the fulcrum shaft 5 and the blade 2 is elastically defomed by the pressing force to the photosensitive body 1 to set the front end of the blade 2 to the cleaning position. |
