The quick coupling arrangement for fitting a steering wheel steering axle to the connecting muff of the underframe of an invalid chair has the axle (1) provided at its upper end with a radial groove (7) in which locates the locking element (17) of a lock pin (16) which slides within the connecting muff (2) to hinder a relative movement between the axle (1) and the connecting muff (2). The axle (1) can be released from the muff (2) by pushing the free end (19) of the locking pin (16) inwards against a spring (21) so that a section of reduced diameter (18) is level with the axle (1) allowing its removal. USE/ADVANTAGE - Invalid chair steering includes a simply constructed light weight quick coupling unit which can replace the corresponding components of a traditional units.
