PURPOSE:To secure sufficient deceeleration as well as to reduce a shock, by performing convergent control at normal shift speed after follow-up control at large shift speed at the time of changing the shift speed to a sporty drive range. CONSTITUTION:When a shift change is performed from a D range to a Ds range during travel, a target shift ratio retrieving part 46 sets a target shift ratio and on the basis of this ratio, controls a shift speed. In this case, first an actual shift ratio follows the target shift speed ratio at the shift speed larger than the usual case and shifts down. Afterward, if the specified time elapses, it further shifts down at the usual shift speed, converging on the target shift speed ratio. With this, immediately after the shift change, the deceleration conformed to will of a driver is securable without entailing any shock.
