The roller power contacts on a transformer tap changer are set at an angle (alpha) to the direction of travel along the line of the common (7) and tapping (6) contact axes (4,5). The roller contacts (1',2') are joined together by a flexible shaft (3). The electrical contact between the two rolling contacts (1',2') is made by a bridge (9') with sliding connections (10',11') on the rolling contact hubs.
