The subject of the invention is a system which makes it possible to open and close the tops of hopper wagons, it being possible for the system to be fitted an unloading station. Two hydraulic motors are placed on each side of the station, in order to gain access to the casing of the wagon placed either to the right or to the left of the station. Referring to the drawing, the system gives great safety, preventing any manoeuvring error in use (electric contact, torque limiter). <IMAGE>
