PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has improved adhesion of a magnetic layer, is highly durable, hardly generates dropout, etc. and has an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic by providing a magnetic layer on the surface of a base film on which a polyurethane resin is dottedly formed. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble polyurethane resin is sprayed or coated by using a roll on a base film of polyester, etc. and thereafter the base film is longitudinally or transversely stretched and is taken up, thereby obtaining the base film on which the polyurethane resin exists dottedly. After an undercoating layer is provided on such base film, a magnetic layer is coated thereon. The magnetic recording medium which has improved adhesion of the magnetic layer, is highly durable, hardly generates dropout, etc. and has an excellent electromagnetic conversion characteristic is thus obtd. |
