PURPOSE:To improve the stability of a liquid color developer and to lessen the increase of fogging at the time of continuous processing by using the liquid color developer contg. a specific compd. as a preservative. CONSTITUTION:A color photographic sensitive material is processed with the liquid developer contg. the arom. primary amine color developing agent and the preservative consisting of the compd. expressed by the formula I. In the formula, R<1>, R<2> denote a hydroxy substd. alkyl; R<3> denotes a (hydroxy substd.) alkyl; Y denotes a carboxyl, sulfo, amide, etc. This liquid developer preferably contains substantially no benzyl alcohol and the developing agent is preferably the compd. expressed by the formula II (where X denotes the paired ion of the primary amine). The increase of the fogging and the change of gradation are suppressed even if the material is processed with the liquid developer after long preservation according to the above-mentioned constitution. The color image having excellent photographic characteristics is thus obtd. |
