Few drops of a reagent comprising (%w/w) 1-8 aq. hydrogen peroxide 1-10 ethanolic phenol-phthalein (or guaiacol resin, or ethanol-benzene soln), and 20-98 aq. acetic acid are added to stools or urine. A colour reaction indicates the presence of blood. The reaction is very sensitive. @() |
