PURPOSE:To continuously carry out polymerization for a long period while preventing the generation of scales by forming the contact surface with a reactant from a ceramic contg. >=40wt% zirconia to constitute the title polymerization equipment. CONSTITUTION:The contact surface with a polymerization material or a polymer during polymerization is formed with a ceramic contg. >=40wt% zirconia to make the polymerization equipment such as a polymerization kettle, an agitator, etc. Partially stabilized zirconia having excellent strength, toughness, and heat resistance is optimally used as the zirconia. The amt. of the stabilizer to be dissolved in the partially stabilized zirconia is controlled to 1-5mol% in case of yttria, to 2-9mol% in case of calcia, and to 8-10mol% in case of magnesia. The fine powder of zirconia obtained by a wet process and having 200-400Angstrom primary particle diameter is appropriately used. |
