PURPOSE:To display an image with density resolution higher than the resolution of a D/A converting means by providing a noise superposing means which superposes random noises generated by a noise generating means upon digital image data. CONSTITUTION:A digital image transferred from an image data source 11, e.g., transmission information on a sample is written in a memory 11 temporarily, processed by a processor 2, and then sent out to the noise superposing means through the memory 1. The means 6 superposes a random noise generated by the noise generating means 7 at every pixel of the input image data and sends out the data to a conversion table 3. The means 7 consists of a generator 7a which generates random noises according to a specific generation probability distribution and a noise variation width regulator 7b, which adjusts the maximum variation width of the random noises to >=1/2 as large as the number of digital bits which can be converted by the D/A converting means. Thus, the image can be displayed on a CRT 5 which density resolution larger than the resolution of the means 4. |
