Lead-containing anodes for hard chromium electrolytes, containing alkanesulphonic acids, consisting of 0.1 to 9% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 5% by weight, of antimony and/or 0.01 to 1% by weight, preferably 0.02 to 0.05% by weight, of palladium and, if appropriate, additionally 0.01 to 1% by weight, preferably 0.02 to 0.05% by weight, of tin, silver and/or selenium.
