An interference suppression filter for circuits in the electrical system of a motor vehicle is proposed. The interference suppression filter comprises a low-inductance conductor (4) which is connected to the line (34) to be provided with interference suppression and a capacitor (8, 9) which is connected to the conductor (1) over a large surface and to a metal housing (18) which serves at the same time as a shielding casing. With the interference suppression filter, a high degree of damping is achieved over a wide frequency range with a continuous current load of up to 200 A without the interference suppression filter overheating or being influenced in an undesired manner by high ambient temperature. <IMAGE>
