In order to increase the effect of air cooling in air-cooled internal combustion engines, those cylinders subjected to high thermal stresses are, in particular, generally provided with air deflectors. Especially in the case of dust-laden cooling air, dust is deposited on the cooling fins of the cylinders, which reduces the cooling effect considerably. In order to clean the cooling fins, the air deflectors must be removed, which is especially time-consuming when the air deflectors are firmly bolted to the cylinders. The invention therefore presents a device for fixing the air deflectors on the cylinders of internal combustion engines, which can be removed without tools. For this purpose, a rod-shaped bracket (7) is inserted through the gaps between each two cooling fins (5 and 6) of the cylinders (1 and 2) respectively through the gap of the two adjacent cylinders (1 and 2) and carries the respective air deflector (11) (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
