<p>A process for decomposing polyhalogenated cycloalkyl compounds with 5 to 8 carbon atoms and polyhalogenated aromatic compounds with at least 6 carbon atoms. A contaminated substrate or the polychlorinated compounds as such are heated with a suitable catalyst up to 150?o to 800o¿C. This process is particularly suitable for decomposing polychlorinated dibenzodioxines and dibenzofuranes, also when found in the soil, in scrap materials and exhaust gases, and for decontaminating flue ashes from waste and refuse incinerating plants.</p> |
