<p>Method for dry clean-up of waste material containing one or more of Cl, S or N, first heats the waste in a fixed-bed incinerator at a temperature of from 730 DEG C to 875 DEG C to provide dry ash and gas; then heats the gas in an afterburner to provide a combusted effluent gas containing acidic gas components and particulate ash; and then passes the effluent gas to a filter to collect dry ash; and finally passes filtered effluent gas to a neutralization means containing dry alkaline material to neutralize acidic gases in the effluent gas, after which the gas is vented and the dry ash collected.</p> |
